Moving South, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Visit from Lindsey

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

We had a good weather window, and a schedule so on 12/22/2021 we left the Abaco's and headed south to the north end of Eleuthera - or more accurately the west end of Royal Island.   Weather was good, with winds 16 to 25 knots, so we made excellent time, although the seas were 4 to 6', the ride was not bad.

We stopped only for overnight at the anchorage at west Royal Island, and then the next morning early headed out, and had a nice sail all the way to Nassau.  Much different conditions inside the banks sailing.

Our niece Lindsey was due to arrive on Christmas evening, so we got groceries and decorated the boat for Christmas.

Our non-red Poinsettia, left over from last year.  Hung 4 ornaments in it.  That is about all we did for Christmas this year.

Of course, being in the big city of Nassau, had to take advantage of the food.  Yes they have McDonalds.

One of Kris's favorite meals.

Christmas evening, we noticed some bees in the cockpit.  They needed a break, so they made a stop on our solar panels.

Lindsey's flight got cancelled, so she did not arrive until the day after Christmas.   and then we headed out quickly and motored in no wind to Allens Cay in the Exumas, as swimming and snorkeling were on her to do list.   The bees departed us as we neared Allens Cay.

Snorkeling was fair, found a couple of good reefs.

After snorkeling, we headed over to see the Iguanas.

Lindsey's visit was short, and we had to be back in Nassau to get a Covid test prior to her flight, so the next day, motored in virtually no wind back to Nassau.    The next morning, a 1.5 hour wait for Covid tests, and a walk around town, followed by a very nice lunch.

Dean, happy about a nice lunch.

After seeing Lindsey to her taxi for her flight to the states, we got some more groceries, and then the next morning, another motor trip as no wind, but we wanted out of Nassau, and back to the smaller islands.

We anchored at Fowl Cay, and had a nice fireworks show further south we could see for New Years.  On New Years Day one project that needed done was Dean's haircut.  Quite the difference.

Now we will just slowly meander south as weather allows
