2023-01-29 Hog Cay, Little Ragged, snorkeling and walking

Spent a few more days at Hog Cay.  Went for a walk with our friends on Sojourn on "Creepy Doll Trail".  Its called that because the trail markers used have a few creepy dolls

Deans hair was getting a bit long - so a haircut was in order.

2023-01-15 Ragged Islands - Haitian Refugees - You tube video out.

As planned on Monday we went into town to Hillside Market – which we think is one of the best stores in the southern half of the Bahamas.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but is packed with food inside.

2023-01-08 Finally some snorkeling - Meeting Adventure man Dan

Went for a nice kayak trip to explore the anchorage and look for snorkeling, but did not see much so took a short beach walk.

2023-01-01 Happy New Year - Junkanoo bust - moving south

We moved on Christmas day up to a roadstead anchorage off of Gregory Town, excited to go see Junkanoo.  At dark we got in the dink, loaded with our flashlights, and headed to town.  Met up with two other dinks from cruising boats - all of us headed off to Junkanoo.  Got to town, and it seemed kind of empty - stopped at a local restaurant that was open, and found out they postponed Junkanoo until the next night - as rain was forecast - although not a strong chance.    We were all bummed.   We stayed around, had a drink at the restaurant and visited - so not a failed evening.

Blue restaurant is where we stopped for drinks

2022-12-25 Merry Christmas. Spanish Wells and Hatchet Bay

We went into Spanish Wells, which is a nice little town, with good groceries, clean streets, kept up homes, and busy streets - but mostly all golf carts.

Walked to hardware store, visited with a Manta 40 Catamaran Emanuel V who is docked in Spanish Wells, went out for a nice lunch, got groceries, and then back to boat.

Quite the Christmas Decorations in the yard

2022-12-18 Move back south and wait for weather - sudden departure

We spent a couple of days in Marsh Harbor, just hanging out.  Walked and got groceries, visited with a couple of folks on the dinghy dock who were thinking of sometime going sailing.

Just relaxed, read some books, watched some movies.

We love good books, but hard to find.   Dean currently reading James Rollins, and Kris reading Charlaine Harris.  Would not say these are great books - but they are entertaining and pass the time.  It is sure nice having the electronic files vs lugging around the paper backs.  If anyone has some recommendations - please share.

We decided on Tuesday to head south again just for a change of scenery  - hoping to monitor the swell coming in and look for  a chance to make the 56 mile jump south to Spanish Wells.  It looked like the coming Saturday or Monday may be good.

Always enjoy the changing water colors in the Bahamas
