Spent a few more days at Hog Cay. Went for a walk with our friends on Sojourn on "Creepy Doll Trail". Its called that because the trail markers used have a few creepy dolls
Doll at the start of the trail, west side |
Some are creepier than others
Not all dolls, basically everything with a face is fair game - and creepy is good |
The shoreline is rough is spots |
Lots of trash on the beaches |
Nice shot of Karen and Duane |
Dean found this in the beach trash, and added it to "Creepy doll trail"
Almost every night here at Hog Cay the cruisers gather for happy hour near sundown at the cruiser hut. Its a gathering place during the day as well, if you want to hang out and play games. Kris played a couple games of Mexican train with some other cruising ladies.

There are several donated chairs in the cruiser hut. This one did not have a back, but Kris sewed one out of some scrap material we had on board. |
Went on another snorkel trip with Sojourn.
Cute little fishes |
Nice large ray hanging out |
Duane diving deep looking for lobster |
Success! - Lobster for dinner |
We decided to move back to Little Ragged for a couple of days, and there was a beach walk Kris wanted to do, and we had not got a chance to snorkel the small cays south of the island.
Nice walk on beach.
Love the patterns that develop in the sand at low tide. |
Charm anchored in the background |
I don't know what critter makes sand sculptures (worms?), but this one looks just like a cigarette in and ashtray. |
Most just look like random blobs |
Next day went for a nice snorkel with Dale and Debbie from MokaKat, near the cays at the south end of Little Ragged.
Nice school of blue tangs, with a parrot fish |
Love the coral formations |
Coral is truly amazing in its shapes |
Had a nice dinner with MokaKat on their boat - they made some delicious Lobster, mango sticky rice rolls - good food and company.
Winds were going to build, so we headed back to Hog Cay, as it has better wind protection. Had a nice beach potluck, as a boat had caught a large Wahoo, so shared it with all, cooking it at the beach over the grill, and the cruisers all brought yummy side dishes and desserts. Fun evening.
Had to burn off all the food we ate, so next day we had a choice of water aerobics with a gang on the beach, or going on along walk with Duane and Karen from Sojourn. We decided the walk sounded like more fun, and better exercise, as well as Dean had found a doll on the beach on Ragged Island, so we had to also add that to the Creepy doll trail.
We did walk by the water aerobics group, and gave them our encouragement. Can you imagine a more beautiful spot to exercise. |
View of Charm at anchor - beautiful water |
More creepy doll head on this trail as well. |
Walking the beach on the east side of Hog Cay
A little bit of the trail was wet, make sure to stick to the rocks, as the rest is goopy mud.
Lots of ups and downs on the walk |
Going down |
Careful foot placement is critical on these walks |
Nice shady spot for a break with water and a snack |
Dean, with his doll addition to the trail marker |
Sojourn added a new doll head as well - Truly creepy. |
We will wait out the winds here, before heading further north to a couple more islands to explore in the Raggeds.
Good fun and delicious pizza :-)
ReplyDeleteThat Little Ragged Beach at low tide is probably the most beautiful beach on earth, IMHO!
