2022-09-25 Dean is fine - Work on boat resumes

Did more tests in hospital, and they found that Dean did indeed have a heart, and it is functioning completely normally.

After testing for and finding no life threatening issues - they let him go - discharged late Sunday - YEAH.

Happy to be out.

No final determination of what caused the fainting.   Could be all mental - could be delayed reaction to new high blood pressure medication -  with possible dehydration brought about my meds - with pressure changes from flying.

Only cost us $3,371 in ambulance ride (a whole 2 miles), and $8,344 in hospital bills (after $12,000) discount for paying cash).    We had made the decision to not carry health insurance, as it would cost around $15,000 a year for the two of us.   We are under that for a yearly average, so doing OK.  In 2026 will be able to get Medicare for Dean, so lets hope no issues until after then.

Once Dean was out, we started looking on how to get back to boat.  Did not feel it was right to hit up Delta for the rest of our trip - even though it was not our decision to get off - as Kris had asked if we could continue our trip, and not divert to Billings.  (She is not heartless - Dean wanted to as well)

The earliest we could afford was a day away, so that meant we would spend Monday relaxing in our less than stellar accommodations at the Rodeway Inn.  This was the cheapest place Kris could find within walking distance to the hospital - since they would not let her spend the night at the hospital.  Even though it was walking distance, she did have to lug the 42 lbs of cheese, plus all the other luggage at the same time the 1200 ft from the emergency room to the hotel, uphill both ways :)
A place to stay - had worse but this was close -  1st world problem.

Kris did get out and enjoy a nice walk while in Billings.
Dirt path along canal, near Billings cliff.

Always enjoy street art.

Cute unique home

And we were able to walk down to a Perkins for dinner - and lucky us - free pie with dinner day.
Best berry pie we have had in the last 5 years

Had a flight back to Baltimore early on Tuesday, and must say, the bathrooms at the Billings airport are impressive.  No stalls, each toilet has its own room.

Ready to go home

Most impressive bathroom facility, clean as well

Got back to boat just fine - no fainting, and Uber driver even went through the McDonalds drive thru for us, as we had not eaten anything but airplane snacks all day - which amounted to one cookie.

Got all the cheese into the refrigerator.

All the cheese - 14 blocks, each block 3 lbs. of Tillamook extra sharp cheddar.

We also got groceries delivered from local store, so our refrigerator is completely full now, the photo is before grocery delivery.

Wednesday morning - back to work.
Getting shiny looking.

Dean buffing and waxing, Kris working on touch up paint on mast, install new hub on sail drive, putting inside of boat back together, adding striping, and other miscellaneous.  We did have some good luck, one of our propeller hubs was reworked by a prop shop for much less than a brand new hub.

Should go back in the water Tuesday, if weather and yard schedule permits.
Dean feeling tired from buffing and waxing, and a nasty hematoma in groin area where they inserted apparatus for angiogram (no photos - x rated)  but no pain - so all is good.

It will be great to be back in the water and have our normal home again.  The midnight walk to the restroom is getting colder and longer.
