2022-09-18 Family - and Dean in hospital - did not see that one coming

Visiting family still.  We had a nice time with Kris's folks.  Helped out with some cleaning and painting, and took some cans in for recycling.  In Oregon recycling pays well.  $20 for our cans.

Played a few hands of cards as well.

Left Kris's folks, and did the 5.5 hour drive back to Boise.  Still smokey but a little better.
Some road work, but pretty valley drive partway.

Back at Boise, we ran some errands, and hung out with Derek.   Went to Costco and bought cheese.
14 blocks (2.5 lbs each) of Tillamook Sharp Cheddar cheese in our thift store $6 suitcase.  We decided not to put our old depthsounder with the cheese like the photo shows - trying to be nice to TSA.

Went and visited our previous next door neighbor Ken.  He had a new bike, and was getting ready to drive round trip up to Canada and back.

Kris tried out the bike, - its a bit big for her.

Had some more fun with Derek going to the World Center for Birds of Prey.  Neat to see the birds up close.

We also went to an Escape Room - lots of fun, and we made it out - barely.
Successful Escapes.

We had an early flight on Saturday, so Derek dropped us at the airport.  All went well with the flight -but about an hour into it, Dean did not feel good, and fainted.   Out for about 5 minutes, then came back, and fainted again.
There were two pediatricians on board, who attempted to take blood pressure and pulse, but were unable to get a good reading on either.   We moved some passengers, and got Dean laid down, and he started to feel much better - but based on the recommendation of the pediatricians, the decision was made to divert the flight to the nearest airport, and we ended up landing in Billings, MT.
Ambulance came and took us to hospital.  Dean was feeling better, and just when we thought maybe this was a fluke due to flying - he fainted again.   Irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure and very low pulse.
An angiogram was done, and found no blockage.  Will have more testing today.  Ultrasound will be next.  Hopefully we will find out what is wrong, and get it fixed, and be able to resume our trip home soon.

Did not see Saturday going like this - but that's life - curveballs once in a while.
