Surrounded by sharks, nice beach walk

Still at Allans / Pensacola Cay.  Nice weather.   Still surrounded by sharks.  Have been working on identification, and 95% sure they are bull sharks.    Not ones to go swimming with.  Sharks in the Bahamas are not uncommon, but usually you are out of the water by 4:00 each day, as usually the sharks come around during twilight hours.    You can generally plan on mid day being shark free.  Unfortunately, we think that people have been feeding the sharks, or cleaning their fish catch from the boats and these have become used to boats having food.  They circle the boat all day long.  We have had from two to five swimming circles around us since we have arrived, with no visible break.

With swimming and cleaning under the boat out of the picture, we decided another shore walk would be in order.   Most trails on the Bahamas shores use trash for marking the trail.   This one has a grand entrance.
Amazing what floats to shore that can be used.

Typical trash marked trail

Even though trash is convenient for trail marking, it is also very sad.  Spent 20 minutes picking up beach trash, and collected quite a bit.  All of the below was found within a 100' long stretch of beach/rock.

All plastic that has come ashore on the east side of the island.

Creative use for trash

This is the "Tree of Memorabilia"  People put their boat names and years on trash and hang in tree.  (sorry for blur, had water on camera lens)

We also took the dinghy around the anchorage for a look see in calm water.  Say rays, and 8 or more turtles.
Blending in with the bottom.

Charm at anchor
