BIG WIND: Heading south down the Alligator River we had a forecast for winds out of the north and winds in the 10 to 15 range, great conditions. Reality was winds out of the north and winds 20 to 30 which required a double reef in the main sail and kept the boat going 6.5 to 8 knots, not as great conditions. Since the winds were out of the north and we were heading south the waves were not that big of an issue. When we got to the Alligator River swing bridge we were concerned if the winds would be too high for them to open the bridge but not an issue. After the bridge we continued south but ended up with just the jib and still managed a respectable 5.5 to 6.5 knots.
