2022-11/27 Rain, rain and rain at Vero Beach - south to North Palm Beach

We spent a few more days at Vero Beach.  Vero Beach has a great bus system, free busses, frequent trips, and stops very convenient for shopping.  We rode the bus three days in a row hitting different store each day to add more provisions, and a trip to the big Walmart to get folding chairs for the beach.  Sure was nice riding the bus because it was raining most of the time and it minimized how much we got wet.

Also got to spend more time with Kris and John on Imagine, and Karen and Duane on Sojourn, when Imagine had us over for a nice dinner.

Very rainy, waiting at bus stop watching rain fall.

One of the many bus trips

Getting back to dinghy, meant Dean bailing out a few gallons before we could put the groceries in and head back to Charm.  The water was over his ankles.

Fully provisioned, we headed south down the ICW.  Had heavy fog

After a hour or so the fog lifted, and we had sunshine - finally.  Back to shorts weather - felt sooooo good.
Finally some sunshine - motoring along ICW

We filled up diesel along the way, and spent one night anchored - with again heavy fog in the morning, but it quickly burnt off.
Had a bridge malfunction along the trip, and had to anchor for a couple of hours waiting on repairs to the bridge before they could open it, so we could proceed.  Us and two other boats waited it out.
Bridge was stuck for a couple hours.

Had our Thanksgiving chips and dip snack at noon while waiting on the bridge.

We arrived at North Palm Beach Thanksgiving afternoon, had a nice dinner  (mashed potatoes and gravy) and apple pie for desert.

Next day went for long walk (4.2 miles), and had lunch out at Five Guys.

Next day, did last provisioning of fresh fruits and veggies, and ready to go.

Will head out this morning, should be decent winds to sail overnight, and hopefully be checking into the Bahamas Monday morning.

  1. I'm sure you're glad to be underway to the Bahamas again! Enjoy the sail.
