2022-06-25 Another boatyard, moving north, and then south

After another trip into town in Annapolis for groceries we decided to head out.

Third time at McDonalds in 6 days - enough for now

Long walk back to boat when hauling groceries, but sure is a pretty walk

We ended up mostly motoring, but some sailing up to Worton Creek.  Our final boatyard to check out, and as it turns out, the one we decided on.  Nice folks, and seem competent.

Osprey, making sure the nest is safe from us intrusive sailors.

After visiting Worton Creek Marina, we headed north to Chesapeake City.  We usually always stop here when transiting from the Chesapeake Bay to the Delaware, as it sits on the C&D canal, and is a convenient stop to wait for the right currents and weather to transit the canal and the Delaware Bay.

Only had to wait one day for the right weather, which in this case was mostly favorable currents, and virtually no wind on the Delaware.

Big sailing ship at Chesapeake City - fun to see

Of course - had to go get a burger at the Real McCoy restaurant.  You can see it was a cold rainy day,

Saw some sights go by while eating our burgers.  Horse was quite the prancer

Trip would not be complete with dessert.

Chesapeake City has a quaint little town near the anchorage and docks.  I think at least 50% of the homes have historical signage.

Banks Steele House, circa 1784

Unimpressive homes, but both with historical signage.

Impressive old building - with historical signage

This was my favorite historical sign - glad the folks in town have a sense of humor.

We headed out from Chesapeake City at 1:00 in the morning - ugh.  Had to in order to time the currents in the canal and down the Delaware.   Ran into fog in the early morning after sunup..

Do you see the large container ship going beside us - neither could we.

Fog finally lifted, very calm seas, and no wind

We will head out today, and make the 155 nautical mile run up to New York, should arrive early in the morning on Monday at Port Washington.
